Michael didn’t start out as a career coach. For 8 years, he worked in human resources at a multinational financial services firm in Central Hong Kong, managing talent development and organizational change. He saw talented people—really talented people—stuck in careers that didn’t fit them. They’d come to him asking for advice, and he’d realize they didn’t need a better job title or a higher salary. They needed permission to change direction and a clear path to get there.
That observation changed everything. He decided to pursue formal training in organisational psychology at the University of Hong Kong, diving deep into career development theory and how adults actually learn and grow. Then came his ICF certification in executive coaching. But more than credentials, he gained something practical: the ability to help people see what’s actually possible when they’re willing to be honest about what they want.
Since 2015, Michael’s been doing this full-time. He’s worked with over 800 professionals across finance, technology, creative industries, and beyond—people at every career stage. Some are making their first big transition. Others are completely reinventing themselves after 20 years in one field. His specialty? Taking someone’s genuine strengths and helping them position those strengths authentically in a new market or role.
What sets Michael apart isn’t just his credentials or experience. It’s his practical approach. He doesn’t believe in motivational speeches or vague career guidance. Instead, he uses structured skills assessments, data-driven personal branding strategies, and real conversations about what’s actually holding people back. His clients report an average salary increase of 22% after their transitions. More importantly, they tell him they feel like they’re actually playing to their strengths for the first time.
